Hi, I am Jessica Merolillo.
I am the woman behind the lens and the creator of More Than a Moment Photography. With just over 5 years under my belt as a professional photographer, it is crazy to think that what once started as a hobby is now something I've developed into a successful and growing business that connects me with amazing, likeminded moms in Pittsburgh.
As a mom of two, I experienced postpartum depression and anxiety with both of my children. Photography was my escape, helping me focus on the beauty of life when things felt so dark. I do my best to share my experiences with others because it always helped me to know I wasn't alone with what I felt.
When you work with me, you'll see that I am passionate and excited about what I do. More than that, you'll see that I am a person that genuinely enjoys being a mom and being real about the experience. I'll commiserate with you about toddler tantrums and reassure you that the chaotic session we just had wasn't nearly as chaotic as you think. Because life is about finding the beauty in the chaos and also letting out a few WTFs along the way.
I'm a Pittsburgher, born & raised.
Since '89, I've lived in this beautiful city. Started out south of the city in Baldwin, but after years of south hills life, I moved to the north hills - I can't believe it's been nearly a decade! Needless to say, I'm a south hills girl at heart that isn't afraid to cross the rivers!
My favorite title is "Mom".
I'm a mom of two little girls (ages 4 & 5) and a pup named Ellie. Of all the titles I've held in this life, being a mom is my favorite (and most challenging) one. and wife of a small business owner, so multi-tasking and working hard is a non-negotiable in this family.
tEACHING IS IN MY BLOOD.
I previously worked as a middle school special education teacher for seven years, so I have lots of tools in my tool box that help me with wrangling little ones and maintaining patience in the midst of the unexpected. Even though I'm out of the classroom, I get to channel my inner-teacher when I'm behind the camera.
i'M AN EASY PERSON TO PLEASE.
I don't need much to feel at peace after a long day of work and being "mom". Just give me a comfy blanket, a spot on the couch with my hubby, and a good crime thriller movie or tv series. Oh, can't forget the animal crackers and some hot chocolate.
