Whether you are looking for a more intimate session in the comfort of your own home with your family or a session that allows you to sit back and relax behind the camera in a studio setting, my clients have the luxury of both options. My home studio provides the ability to capture lifestyle family images as well as posed studio images and I can bring studio props to your home if you'd prefer to stay put. My overall goal is to create an experience that doesn't force you to choose, but instead allows you to truly have it all.
in-home newborn sessions
In-home newborn sessions are a very popular option for families. Some want to show off a stunning nursery setup or a new home. Some just know their toddlers will be better for the camera in an environment they recognize. More than that, it takes the task of packing up the family and heading to a studio for a session. This type of session allows you to stay in the comfort of your own home. The feedback I have consistently received with my in-home newborn sessions is that it took so much pressure off mom and allowed her more time to concentrate on herself once I arrive.
I bring all props and equipment with me to your home including wraps, bows, posing beanbag, backdrops, baskets/bowls, additional lighting (just in case) and any special items I may have ordered for your session. This is also a huge weight off mom's shoulders because it allows her to worry less about coordinating the baby. I do encourage parents to share sentimental items, outfits or wraps they love, or anything unique they'd like included in some of the poses.
Even when I go into a session that we are completely prepared to execute, there will be things that don't go as planned: baby is fussier than normal, toddler doesn't want to cooperate, baby is cluster feeding, etc. No need to worry - as many of my clients can attest, my go-to phrase is "go with the flow". We adapt and adjust to what makes the most sense in the moment and uses the time efficiently.
studio sessions
My cozy and welcoming home studio, located in Wexford, is the perfect option for families that want a break from their house. Maybe you don't necessarily have something specific in your home that you want captured in the session. Maybe you think it would take more effort to get the house the way you want it before I would come for a session. Coming to my home studio allows for us to have the props and areas prepared for the baby before you arrive and an area that is perfectly lit and ready for the baby.
Additionally, this is the best option for parents that want more posed images of their little one - either on their own, with parents, or with siblings. I do have the ability to create lifestyle poses at our home for those that would like that!
It's also worth noting that there is space to breastfeed if you need to mid session, coffee and water, as well as snacks. The benefit of having two children of my own allows me to have a play area for any toddlers that may come along for the session. This is a great way to keep them occupied while we work with the baby!
